[ lbr here, everything is so nutty in recolle that seeing random tarot cards and hearing weird voices isn't the strangest thing around here. i mean, noah and his giant claw arm?? yeah, now that is weirder. ]

I'm not too sure, actually. I haven't experienced any extra abilities or felt any differences with them. I think they're just an indication of how close I am becoming with a person.

I don't know how high the ranks go, but with new ones, it starts at rank one but for me and my brother, for example, we're at rank nine.

Huh. W-Well I guess it'd be handy to have a way to know how close you are with someone. Unless it's just your feelings towards them...

I-In my memories, there was some ability called "Combat Linking". My memory's still pretty hazy about it, but I remember being acutely aware of what my partner was doing, even if they weren't near me.

I was just wondering if it's similar to that...

Social Links don’t allow me to anything like that at all. It’s really just random flashes of light, pictures, and then an ominous voice speaking.

The thing you’ve described, Combat Linking, sounds like it would have a lot of problems with privacy. What if your partner is in the washroom or doing something private?

Aha, I dunno. I don't think the link is on all the time. I have memories where I didn't feel it, so maybe you could turn it off if you want?

But can you turn it on whenever you like? Turning it off wouldn’t it a problem. It’d be a problem if you or your partner started turning it on whenever you wanted to snoop on each other.

[Elliot was a private person, and he was a person that really disliked being controlled. If that other Elliot was him, he can't seem himself allowing his privacy and freedom be violated like that]
