[He'll keep holding onto those fingers, not wanting to let go. Partly it's out of caution because while he trusts Eren not to drop him- he doesn't want to risk falling out either. And it's partly because well, it's the best view here.

But he can hear that heartbeat. It's much louder than the one he'd often hear from Eren, but it reminds him of it all the same. Comforting, in a way.

As for the view...]

Wow....

[Its beautiful. Even with the dome there, seeing the city all light up with small lights. It does remind him of that night on the car, or the few times he's been on a plane. Having the sky too would be better, but it's still beautiful]

Eheh, not many people get to see a view like this...

[ eren stares out toward the city with him, agreeing and making some more quaint sounding murrs, as if he were still talking to him. like a gentle dragon friend (might as well be part lizard too), staying completely silent sucked anyway— eren was communicative.

hands come up closer to eren’s face so he can see elliot on the same eye level. he doesn’t know what the dome’s for and he doesn’t know what’s to come— he just knows that he’s got a power that he can use for good now, and any fear he had of monster storms or the like slightly teeters. he shouldn’t really get too over his head, he isn’t an experienced shifter— but he’s made progress, and he’ll do what his past father told him. he’ll control this to protect what was important to him. if it depended solely on eren, he wouldn’t let anything remotely frightening get near the young man in his hands. it’s brief, but as the murring gives sequence, he shields one hand elliot’s on with his other to gesture that. he’s completely protected.

his face hovers closer to him, enough to come in contact with elliot. it’s a brush with his nose that caresses into his cheekbone. that is a giant sized cuddle you have earned. still on the same level, he offers his shoulder, broad enough to give him space from any edge. plus, his hair’s long enough to anchor onto without any problems. he wants to talk to him better. ]

[He hears those murrs. It figures that Eren would still be trying to communicate even though he couldn't talk. He laughs again when Eren tries to nuzzle him with that big nose, shifting his weight onto his far arm as he gets pushed a little by that cuddle- since dude you're massive]

Haha, wow there big guy.

[He'll reach up and pat his nose a couple times. He gets it, you're still as much of a cuddler as ever. But he'll pick up on that shoulder offer- but he's so gonna check first]

You want me to go on your shoulder?

[ don’t tell anyone of these cuddle tendencies. it’s even worse when he’s huge and looks like a halloween float. but he’ll nod his head and grunt, still holding his hand up to it, but giving a questioning tune. do you want to? because it isn’t necessary if it’s too high or more unstable feeling than his finger rails. ]

[Would anyone even believe him? Probably not. Elliot glances at that shoulder, he's a little nervous about it, but- it should be okay, right? Just think of it as sitting on a big tree branch.

Okay so he only knows that in theory, as he's a city boy whose never been around big trees. But the point stands!! ]

O-Okay...just catch me if I fall okay?

[He'll slowly climb over onto the shoulder, being careful with each move. When he's finally on, he moves to sit near the hair- so he can grab hold of it. He promises not to pull on it too much]

[ eren rolls his eyes, not ill intended, because he’d be smiling and is already sounding something akin to a psh. there was a high string of doubt to not looking after him for that, and he wouldn’t let it get to the falling in the first place. his hand guards elliot until he sees he’s got a strand of hair— to which eren pulls at the opposite side with enough force to make it straighten out. come on, he won’t feel a thing.

now there could be a little less gorilla noises and a bit more comfort. the titan dips the head down to expose the neck. that’s certainly . . . skin moving. aw look it’s kicking! what a beautiful neck fetus indeed. with a bit more pulling, eren breaks out of the patch of skin like one would lift the screen of a cockpit, spewing some steam out as he does. it’s the same way as it was when they had to cut him out, there’s still flesh connected to him from the face to the arms and up the spine especially, but— he’s awake. sputtering a little and gasping for that new air, he clears his throat with a few more wet coughs before looking at him.

they had a good view still, and the meat mecha looks like it’s on emergency breaks. ]

Doing better?

[Elliot moves into a more comfortable sitting position on the shoulder, all while holding onto that lock of hair. Okay, this...this isn't so bad. It's surreal, but he's feeling more confident he can get used to this.

And then Eren breaks out of the back of the neck like some freaky alien birth. That's both horrifying and really gross. Elliot yells and thankfully is sitting, otherwise he would've been at risk for falling off. Instead, there's a sizable YANK on the hair]

GAH! E-Eren!?

[THE MEAT MECHA IS A LOT GROSSER THAN VALIMAR ]

[ clearly: eren’s gotten comfortable enough with this to feel like it’s something— well, not normal, but perhaps familiar? enough that it doesn’t hit him that open flesh and neck birth is precisely so: not normal. the people in his memories were used to seeing blood and guts everywhere, seeing live flesh wasn’t a problem. for them. ]

after a minute of looking tense, not that elliot sees it and you bet he’s taking advantage of that, he does . . . try to lighten his tone. ]

It sucks. [ that’s still a nice view, nevertheless. ] But I don’t need to talk much while throwing punches. [ that’s what this was for, anyway. look at that musculature. but he could derail, just this once. he could use it to take his boyfriend out on a forest stroll. ]

[ a quiet yeah, attempting to lean himself away from the steam to get a better inhale of cool air. it’s refreshing, to say the least. but at least it’s warm in here. for how gross it actually is to be wrapped in flesh. ]

Maybe it was a little idealistic, but I wanted to believe there was a way to control it. [A small wry smile] Glad I turned out to be right.

but eren listens, finding a smile prying his lips to the sides. he wouldn’t want to stray from that, even for a second. his beliefs, especially, and the strength to make them move forward was what marked eren for who he was. ]

[Some of the memories that Eren's told him about, they made more sense in that form rather than his small human one. Like the one about breaking a guy's neck in a wrestling hold. Why bother with that when he usually had weapons? But in Titan form...body was all he had.

But he gets it. There's bits and pieces in his memories that don't make sense. That he decides to shelve until later. ]

I get it. The memories can be hard to comprehend sometimes. And controlling a titan form...that's got to be really confusing.

[ he’s trying to find the right wording without it sounding, well, weird. ]

It feels like . . . You’re in water. Wow... [He tries to imagine that, though the analogy helps] It sounds intense...

[ which explains the time limit. but that even helps him picture things clearer. you can’t swim forever, after all. ]

[He pauses as he thinks about it, drawing the information back. His eyes flutter shut as he recites it for him]

[ wow, he didn’t. know that. it sounds really cool. completely unheard of, but rather fitting, and for once . . . eren’s face seems to light up. who knew the word “titan” in the same sentence would make him do that. ]

[ maybe— it really was the right power for him, after all. there’s so much about titans he doesn’t seem to know. but there’s . . . one thing that he didn’t already have a feeling about. ]

What’s hardening?

[ He's not sure how much of it is the titan specifically or Eren's use of the titan, but still. It fits. ]
