Haha, don't worry! I'm from NYC, so no way it could be any stranger than the stuff you find there. And it's not like Japanese doesn't have some of its odd dishes too, so I'm sure the others will be fine!

Try making muikku! I don't know what it's called in English but it's a little fish that you fry up in butter!
