Curiosity. Someone took note of the number of otamatone covers on the trick or treat app and was questioning whether a band could be started with them alone.
It's not so much popularity, I'm sure there'd be some niche for it. It's more the lack of variety in instruments if you use only them. And they're toys too, so they don't have the same range as say a piano or a guitar. So you'd be really limited in what you can perform.
It'd be like painting in one color only? You could do it, but it might start sounding all the same really quick.
Do it for the hilarity, but don't drag it out. Yes, things are ever changing in the art world and remaining relevant is a challenge. I suppose it's the same for the music world as well...

You mean those toy synthesizers from Japan?
Not much. Why?

Um.
Well theoretically you can start a band with any combination of instruments.
So you could.
Not sure why you would though.

I see.
So... it would be possible.
But not recommended.
... they're so very charming though. They really wouldn't be popular in a band...?

Ah, I see.
Interesting for one or two pieces, and perhaps even considered clever. But not for the long run?

I think it'd be a good idea if you're trying to go viral.
It's quirky enough that I think it'd have the chance.

[Art world don't have to worry about Beyonce suddenly dropping albums in the middle of the night]
Oh hey, off topic, but do you want some roses?
