[Except then 5 hours later he wakes up to find that Eren is not in his room, or anywhere in this house. Cue panicked text]

Where are you?? Are you okay??

[ oh boy he got a message and he’s been awake for approximately 36 hours IT’S NO BIG DEAL HE WASNT NODDING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF NEGOTIATION. eren’s awake, he responds immediately but. ]

[ he stops. reads the message again. god fuck perfect punctuation today. ]

[ his blinders are closed and he didn’t pay attention to his phone . . . nothing works when you don’t sleep. ]

[ he didn’t ever realize it was— god, he hasn’t walked the dogs, let alone fed them yet. his whole schedule was . . . fucked, and so was he! elliot has his key too, so, he’s free to come in. during the wait time, eren wraps up the last auction and closes the door to his room (it’s a war zone in there), feeds the dogs and makes enough breakfast for two: scrambled egg whites and turkey bacon, oatmeal, a bowl of cherries, bananas and milk on the side.

he looks like a zombie but his head hasn’t stopped for a second. it doesn’t let him. ]

[It won't take too long for Elliot to get there, he just needed to get dressed and grab a quick uber. Soon enough, Elliot's using his own key to unlock the door. He comes in, shutting the door behind him. He doesn't even notice the breakfast. Just that Eren looks well...]

Eren, jeez, you look like you've been attacked by wolves.

[ elliot is greeted by both kaiser and titan rushing to the door to give their surprise good morning, while eren just needed to start on at least a half banana to function. god, his immune system is compromised?? HE CAN FEEL THE CORTISOL RUSHING THROUGH HIS VEINS. ]

It was a kaiju, that . . . [ he dreamed about for five seconds before he jolted awake again, but once eren realizes what he’s talking about he just sort of. waves it off. please don’t listen to him. rubbing his face tiredly and keeping his head in his hands, he sort of moans in half frustration with a piece of banana poking the inside of his cheek. his sleep schedule is messed up!! his dog’s schedules are messed up!! he’s never done something so imprudent to his own health that it’s visibly bothering him!! ] I lost track of time.

[Wasn't a Kaiju from that robot movie?? Jeez Eren... He acknowledges the dogs with quick pets and a "down" command at the overly excited Kaiser, then sighs and steps forward to start shepherding Eren to his bedroom, ]

Come on, you're going to bed.

Wait— Wait, I— [ mouth full. hold on. then, gently, eren’s got his arms on elliot to

try and shepherd him to the chair opposite of him ]

We should eat first, [ he finishes the banana and goes onto the eggs and turkey. elliot’s plates are ready too— a little messy and not at eren’s best, but good enough. ] I can’t screw that up, too.

[ please??? natural puppy eyes??? please he wants to stay healthy ruining his meal schedule will be the death of him. ]

[Oh my god the puppy eyes. Elliot looks so torn right now because he doesn't want to be mean, but Eren needs his rest.

Though he won't be able to sleep if he's hungry either...]

...F-Fine. 10 minutes.

[ he can eats this in ten minutes, that’s enough. he probably isn’t supposed to get any kisses for his no good very bad mistake, but as he eats, he does put his hand out, quietly asking for elliot’s hand. his fork shakes as he lifts it up to eat, eyes wide open and raccoon circles just under them. ]

. . . Sorry for waking you up at that hour.

[Elliot sits down in the chair next to him, not eating his own food. He doesn't have an appetite right now, he can eat after he's sure Eren's asleep. And there's some hesistation before he sighs and take that hand that's being asked for]

T-That's not the part I minded so much...I mean it wasn't great, but...

Waking up and not finding you where you said you'd be nearly gave me a heart attack.

[ augh christ, his chest hurts something bad at that and he feels like the shittiest last cookie in the cookie packet that’s all broken and no one wants the broken cookie!! he is the worst cookie. squeezing elliot’s hand, eren presses his temple (smacks his face) with the other as soon as he lets go of the fork. ]

I was going to leave something done so I wouldn’t keep freaking out at your place. It was supposed to take another hour at maximum, not— [ because he knows himself, but either way— he sighs, and shakes his head, disapproving of himself. ] not five, that I didn’t even see go by.

[Well here to add to that feeling is some sad puppy eyes. No, he's not willing to let him off the hook just yet. Better to encourage him not to do this again]

Yeah well, I was really worried. And I'm still worried, at least until I know you're getting sleep.

[ he doesn’t want to be let off the hook!!! he needs to be punished!!!

and this, finishes up his food, all of it. ]

I know, and you’re right. I’ll sleep. I’ll sleep right now. [ and they’ll talk about everything once he wakes up for lunch. if he sleeps now and wakes up at 12:30, that’s four hours of sleep. perfect to get a jumpstart and correct his sleeping when it’s the right time to actually sleep. giving elliot another squeeze of his hand, eren gives his fingers an apologetic kiss, ] Thanks for coming. [ before he gets up to rinse his plates and stick them in the dishwasher.

the only other thing he does is send a voice message to his mother, curt, brief and german: hi mom,, i’m not coming in today so someone else needs to fill my place, thanks, and that is the end of that.

he’s going to walk over to the big comfy couch and not his room. ]

He watches him go, a little relived to see Eren get into gear to go to sleep. Yes, he needs sleep. They can talk things out once he wakes up. When Eren kisses his fingers, he'll reach up go give him a quick kiss on the cheek. They're okay, they're okay. Just get some sleep]

Of course. I'll be here when you wake up too.

[Luckily he didn't have much planned for the day. He can hang around Eren's. But Eren not going to the couch catches him by surprise]
