[Derek's eyes fly open when he hear that Elliot can heal.]

YOU CAN HEAL?

[Derek did not mean for that to come out so loud or so abruptly. But could Elliot be the person who could help him? Prevent him from an untimely death if it happens? How strong was his magic? What kind of healing did he do? Could it heal magical injuries? Derek needed to know.]

[ Holy crap that's loud. Elliot looks a little stunned. ]

Y-Yes?

[Get ready for a string of questions Elliot.]

How do you heal? How serious does the injury have to be before you magic does't work on it? Can you heal magical injuries, like say curses? How long does it take?

Uh- o-okay, hold on. That's a lot of questions.

[He swallows and tries to think how to address them all]

How I heal depends on the spell- but I can heal with water, singing, or by giving people regeneration for a few minutes. All of them work immediately though. And I know it can't heal scars or wounds that have already healed naturally? I don't know about severity...I've healed stab wounds and broken bones? Nothing more than that.

As for curses...it depends on the curse, I guess?

[Derek purses his lips for a few seconds, deciding whether or not to tell Elliot about the Sectumsempra curse. He decides to just describe it.]

What about a curse that causes a person to be pretty much cut open from their face down to their waste in a sort of... diagonal motion? [Derek makes a diagonal motion with his hand.] And pretty much there's a shit load of blood loss?

[That's uh...wow. Wow Derek that's so specific it's very worrying]

Um....

D-Depends on the curse? B-But as long as nothing about the curse stops the injury from being healed, I think it'd work...?

[Derek covers his mouth one one of his hands.]

Shit I didn't think about the possibility of the curse not being unable to be reversed in some way. Dang. I wish I had his magic theory book...

Elliot, [Derek drops his hand.] what would cause a curse to be unable to be reversed? Theoretically speaking.

[Oh wow we're going into magic theory now. Elliot feels woefully inadequate for this conversation, but he at least had to try?]

Er, well, I don't know specifically how it works, but sometimes spells have side effects to them? Like... my earth element spells, usually I'm throwing heavy boulders or summoning spikes of rock but...but sometimes, the magic in the spell will turn whatever it hits into stone.

[that's only a little unsettling right]

So, it could be an added side effect like that. Or, it could be the curse can only be undone in a specific way. [He scratches the side of his jaw] Th-This is all hypothetical though, it's completely possible I could heal the injury. I wouldn't know without seeing the curse itself.

[Derek rubs the back of his neck and sighs.]

You don't want to see the curse, believe me... it's pretty gory... and painful.

[Oops]

O-Oh no, sorry! That was insensitive! I wasn't asking you to do it. Just that I'd have to see it before I could give a definitive answer! Th-that's all.

I really can't you much more about it. It's painful as fuck though. And I'm pretty sure you can't heal it by any non-magical means. The blood loss was really fast and he was having trouble breathing.

That's awful...and someone cast that on your other self?

Yeah. This asshole named Harry Potter. What worries me is... what if I get that injury, that curse. One of my friends got a fresh gun shot wound his other self got. I'm pretty sure my other self dies from this curse. I don't want to die!

[oh sweet jeez this escalated quickly]

H-Hey! I'm sure you're not going to die! If something happens, j-just come to me and I'll see if I can heal it!

But I'm sure it'll be okay...

I don't think I come come to you if I'm sliced open and dying but...

[Derek takes out his phone.]

What's your number? Maybe if someone is with me if it happens they can call you. Maybe I'll put a note next to your name, "Call if I a dying."

[Derek is grinning slightly at his last comment.]

[Derek enters the number into his phone and saves it.]
