What a contradictory person. Either the person frustrates you, you understand that, and distance yourself. Or you recognise you need them and make steps to improve your relationship.

I don’t believe it’s possible to have it both ways? Or, rather, it doesn’t sound healthy to.

you’re right. sometimes you like people who get on your nerves, but you have to do something if it gets out of hand.

i don’t think it is, either, but it’s not for us to handle.

But it does give pause for thought. We have memories of each other we keep getting from the app, but also we're lucky enough to get along here as well. I wonder, would the need to cling to the familiar yet important be the same if things were different?
