Huh. [Rean can't even imagine how that works, but then again, he's not nearly as well-versed in instruments as Elliot is...] Here's hoping you don't exactly make a habit of that, but that's interesting.
So, do you need it for healing magic?
[He's trying to figure out why Elliot brought it.]
[Spoilers: It's magic don't ask me how it works either]
Ehe, well I've done it a few times. Once and awhile Retrospec likes to send people on missions.
[A shrug]
Not quite, but it does make casting easier. Oh- and that should be clean enough. [And if on cue, he finishes with the alcohol and puts the cloth away, pulling out the staff. The staff glows brightly for a moment, and when the glow goes away - it's now a full staff length instead of a violin.]
[We're running with "Elliot is a musical genius and he can make it work somehow because magic." But missions? Rean glances over at Elliot with a slightly quirked brow.
Look at this boy. He's soft. Is that really a good idea...?]
Mm... well, I guess having a healer around in those situations would be good. And you're here now, so I can only assume you've been careful.
[...Is he just telling himself this so he worries less...?
Oh. Woah. That is definitely a staff now. And that was definitely magic. Not that he hasn't seen Elliot use magic before, but he's still not exactly used to it.
Don't mind him, he's just going to be mildly awestruck for a moment.]
[Wow excuse you Rean. He may be soft, but he also hardcore. ]
Eheh, yeah! I like to think I've made myself useful thanks to my magic.
[And that's what his self-worth cares about. Being useful. Not being a burden. Same reason he insists on feeding so many people. He's useful that way.
Elliot notices Reans awe and grins a little ]
Cool right? And comes in handy. Anyway-
[He brings down the end of the staff so it bangs against the ground. But instead of a usual banging sound, it rings out like a tuning fork. There's a glowing light beneath both of them, and Rean will see the scratches start to heal and fade away right in front of him as the regeneration kicks in]
[And then Elliot's staff is ringing out like a tuning fork against the ground, and—]
Woah!
[Rean can't contain his surprise, mouth dropping open as he watches his cuts heal up. This is kind of what he'd hoped would happen, that's why he called Elliot at all, but actually seeing it in action is...]
[He'll lower the staff as the spell takes effect, looking at the hand to make sure it heals again. Soon, it'll look like it was never there. Good old regeneration power.]
Hehe, it's no problem!
I can give people temporary regeneration power. It'll wear off in a few minutes, but your hand will be as good as new!
[And Right on cue, Crow opens up the door casually and walks right in, a whole array of medical supplies under his arm and on top of his head like he's some woman balancing a pot.]
[Well. That answers all his questions, if in a slightly infuriating manner. And, well... he did come all the way here because he was worried about him. Rean can't really stay angry.]
Mgh... fine. Will you at least knock next time? If you keep scaring me like that, you're going to give me an early heart attack.

Ha, I'm sure you've done more than just that— Ah.

I mean, I don't really know what I was expecting when you said you could heal, but actually seeing it in practice is something else.
no subject
Aw, thanks Rean. That's nice to hear.
And now we can tell Crow that you've been taken care of!
1/2
Reeeeeeeeeeaaan~!
I've come to save you--
2/2
...Aw. Am I too late?

But wait-]
H-Hey! You said he was in my care, Crow!
[DID YOU NOT TRUST HIM??]
1/2
[He's never seen you heal before, Elliot! Can you blame him for hustling over here? You can practically see his dog ears droop.
Oh wait, Rean's yelling at him.]
2/2
...Luci let me in, if you're that curious.
[But wait, there's more! He'll just explain as he takes the bandages off his head and set them down, disinfectant wipes put on the nightstand.]
And class was over, which is why I suddenly dropped off the line.

Then you should've said so. I could've waited if you had.
no subject
I'll catch it next time.
[He'll reach out to ruffle Rean's hair though, chuckling softly.]
Alright, alright, you got me there. Don't want to be counterproductive to Elliot's handiwork.
