[Rean can't help but grin that much wider at Crow poking Vulpix's nose. Cute...]
Haha, well, maybe you need to learn a little faster, old man—
[Oh, Crow's opening his other gift, and... oh, wow. That look on his face is something else. He really does love card games, doesn't he? Rean knew he liked them, he wouldn't have picked the bracelet with the poker charm otherwise, but there's a difference between liking something and this.
...Noted. He doesn't often play card games, but it's not as if he's opposed to learning how. Against Crow, he thinks it might be fun.]
Ah, yeah. I haven't played since I was really young, though, so I couldn't even try to tell you how it works now...
Haha, it's okay. I don't think anyone expects you to memorize every single pokemon and their type...
[Elliot sure hasn't. He only has that mad memorization level for music. Make a poke-rap for all 807 pokemon and then we'll talk.
but holy crap, that sure is a reaction from the present. He had hoped Crow would like it, he knows Crow likes card games, but to see him light up SO MUCH- man, it's such a great feeling. what is this feeling in his chest? Is it...pride?
Weird. ]
Hehe, yep! And don't worry Rean, I dug out my old deck and brushed up on the rules - so I can teach him.
[By the time you two finish your sentences, Crow is halfway through opening the box, looking like a kid who just got caught sticking a hand in a cookie jar.]
Yeah. Have you ever heard of Magic the Gathering or Duel Monsters? It's your deck against someone else's, and there are hundreds of cards you can build a deck from so long as it follows the rules. Like, only three of one type of monster, and I know there are others...
[He digs into his bag and pulls out a ziploc bag with a deck of pokemon cards inside. Clearly they are a few years older and a little worn compared to Crow's new shiny deck, but still good]
Not sure I'd call my deck anything special, but it was fun to play and collect. I mean, I know there's the video games...but I've always had a soft spot for games like this. [Card games, pool, board games ... basically any game that wasn't an actual sport]

...
You have your own cards?

I'll let Elliot do the actual explaining, though.
