Yeah, maybe. But it's never made sense for James to be the killer.
We worked together back in February, and he was a total jock. He even took on a bunch of monsters while having one arm, and when I healed him after he seemed dumbstruck by it.

Whoever killed Zee and those criminals has to have some magic ability that surpasses mine. And, well... there's no way that's James.

i remember seeing this and i'm planning to talk to him very soon. will keep you guys posted.

i also feel like the motive is flimsy if we look at the big picture. i know James can be violent, especially during that time period where some of us was someone else, but the method doesn't exactly line up if Zee and the gang killings are connected and we pin him as the killer. from some snooping, i can't find any connection between that specific crime ring and him.

if it was only for Zee's murder, i can see how it may line up, but as a whole it doesn't. however, if we consider that the culprit is still out there and using James as a scapegoat, it would make better sense.

Regardless of whether he is innocent or guilty, do be careful speaking to him. Are you going to face-to-face, or over the network?

If whoever the killer is truly is using magic, then it makes them even more dangerous... and unpredictable.

i'm doing my best to not seem suspicious or threatening. actually, i don't think i'm that threatening, either. for now, i'm going to message James.

i don't think i'll be doing a lot of face-to-face confrontations, so you don't have to... but if something comes up where i do, i'll mention it here and go with someone.

Mm, I get what you mean. A lot of people are dead and we still don't have a single lead to whose doing it, and on top of that we have to watch our step or we'll end up dead too...

That'd be REALLY nice, but I can't see Retrospec handing that over. They would've done that after Zee died if they were willing.

Even if we did, though, it isn't as if they'd have the handy descriptions of "has the potential to kill someone" or anything of the sort, and given how many people are on the app, plus whatever they may have had returned to them...

They wouldn't do something like that normally, so I doubt the app would as well. It'd very much help us narrow down the suspect pool, certainly, but...

Someone theorized that they could be hiding on another "layer", like the ones they mention sometimes.

They could be hiding it within a mundane building. The layers have caused a lot of trouble so far, I would think they'd be hesitant to mess with them when they've been so volatile recently...

That rules out Persona users and anyone from my world, at least. He would've noticed something for sure if it were them. That just leaves...nearly everyone else.
