In the barracks in my music lesson office. I was just getting things ready for my new students starting later this week.

[ eren . . . says something? it's something. or maybe he didn't say anything at all, just a noise, but the meaning of it comes through in either way heard: alright. they had some things to talk about and catch up on, as if things would always maintain simple and clean when related to eren. soon enough, the dragon's forehead pokes through the side frame of a hall, only big black eyes peering into the office and his blue tongue following suit.

then comes the rest of him— curvy horns that seem to have gotten an inch longer, and buds rounded out underneath them to signal a new pair on the way. he's covered in a lot of the aforementioned paint, but none of it drips; it's all caked to dryness on his scales. he seems well, emotionally. better than what he could be, far less fretting and seemingly serene. maybe just mildly apprehensive for a number of reasons.

he's holding something in his hand. ]

[With a question like that, Elliot fully expected Eren to show up - as that's what he always does. The office is open. It's changed a lot since the days he slept in here. It looks like a proper music lesson room now - with instruments and materials all over the room. Elliot stands up from his desk when Eren shuffles in, offering a smile]

Hey.

[He crosses the room, reaching out to fleck a little paint off his scales.]

New method's a little messy I see. [He notices that there's something in his hand] Oh? Whatcha got there?

[ when eren lifts his hand to reveal the gift, it's keenly similar to a water balloon, purple and squishy between the weight of his palm and fingers. ]

The new method.

[ casually, the dragon lifts his hand into a hover— right above elliot's head. and stares him dead in the eye. ]

Wha-

[!!!!]

H-Hey, haha, be careful where you hold that thing....

[Covering the top of his head with one hand!]

[ he’s slowly . . . arduously . . . beginning to squeeze it. plump bubbles of paint-filled balloon begins to press through the spaces of his fingers and wining to burst at any moment. not worried, are you. he sees. ]

Sorry.

[ so he wouldn’t mind if he held it over another victim— his desk? his notes? gasp . . . an innocent cello. ]

He seems nervous when Eren holds it over the desk, but not anymore so when it was being held over himself.

But the cello? Oh no.]

[ELLIOT TRIES TO TACKLE EREN LIKE A BODYGUARD DIVING IN TO SAVE THEIR CHARGE]

[ so he's just— so it makes the sound spongebob does when flat kicks his butt. a passionate reaction, but one eren doesn't shy away from yet. the weapon is still armed. he's dangerous. the balloon is gonna blow . . . ]

Does paint ruin instruments?

[ asking for a friend. ]

[This so cruel Eren. And honestly Elliot is weak as all heck so it's not like his tackle did much but make Elliot just...push against him and cling now as he tries to get him away]

It can if it gets on the strings or neck! And cellos aren't cheap!

[NOT ALL OF US SHED DEAD SKIN MONEY]

[mood. eren doesn't quite move his positioning, but he does tip his head sideways to question him. ]

You'd sacrifice yourself for an instrument?

[ for the record, he's not being serious; simply and flatly playing with him to the point that it might actually look serious. ]

[That's exactly what this is right now.]

In the case of paint? Yes!

[ eren isn't here to destroy any of elliot's prized possessions, so, good enough. he's really bad at jokes and playing around anyway and this had probably been proof— either way, the day is saved. ]

Alright.

[ elliot would count as sacrifice and gets loaded with the balloon of magenta paint in one swift squeeze and instantaneous pop.

he tried. ]

[Elliot yelps as he gets covered in paint, his eyes squeezing shut so it doesn't get into his eyes. He's so drenched into the stuff he looks less like a redhead and more like he has pink hair]

Gah-

[But don't think Eren's getting away with this! Because Elliot is cunning enough to immediately respond by hugging Eren and bumping his head against Eren's chest so he gets paint on him to]

Aha- taking you down with me!

[ l-lmao don't make this cute, too late, it already is. fuk. ]

Even if I'm already covered?

[ what had been on him was mostly dry, at least— but eren's smile comes surprised and slightly awkward. you tried your best too, little churro. ]

[Sorry not sorry cuteness comes naturally]

W-Well- [Yeah he doesn't have a retort ready for that] Y-Yeah! Now you have to deal with MORE paint!

[He sounds as threatening as a tiny bunny help]

[ hun . . . this is moe. eren’s mouth opens, closes. how do you even argue with that? you don’t, but. ]

We need to work on your threats.

[ says eren already patting at the witch’s paint drenched shoulders and getting his palms all magenta. ]

[Elliot pouts a little, but it's clearly not that serious. Excuse him as he leans against Eren and get that paint on him]

Y-Yeah, I know. I usually leave it up to the others since they're better at it...

[The others being his class obviously. Literally any of them are better at threats than him]

[ eren's has hovers, momentarily, before patting elliot's shoulder in his chest to complete the messy squish. ]

Only the circumstance is better for them. [ he wants to see someone threaten an instrument to see how his tune (lol) will change. elliot just didn't threaten people offhandedly and that was a good thing, in a way! threats are more warnings, or bluffs. ] As long as you know how to defend yourself.

[ so, not counting that, ]

Want to clean up?

[There'd be no threats then, only death.]

Hehe, guess so. I've held out this long...so I'd to think I know how.

[Says the boy that can easily waste things if he has a chance to get a spell in. But the pout seems to be gone. He's looking up at Eren with a bit of a small smile]

Yeah, before it dries. [Though that reminds him] Oh- but how will you clean up? Are your enchantments still working?

[ oh, um— ]

I can stay like this. [ it wasn't about his enchantments, those were actually full! eren just hadn't particularly thought about cleaning up when . . . ] It's not worth the effort.

[ he's going to get dirty again. ]

Er...okay?

[He blinks a little, confused. He tilts his head a little]

Does that mean you're gonna back to painting right away?

[ oblivious as to where the confusion could be coming from but seeing it, nonetheless, eren brings his talons back to his side. idly, they rub and fidget against his sweatpants sides. ]

I was going to pick up more paint, so I’ll still get messy. But I can, [ awkward, gesture, ] help you.

Ah...

[Well that explains it. Elliot turns a little pink, feeling a little awkward with the way Eren suggested that]

T-That's okay, I know how to shower.
