We've encountered a few setbacks, but everything is going well. The waters here are home to infected merrow and a few "sea beasts" as our captain likes to call them. A few merrow have tried to sing both passengers and crew overboard, but we were able to prevent that from happening. It's given us a few scares though. Still-- nothing we can't handle.
Although the boat is a bit on the older side, it has decent canons and we haven't had any trouble scaring away anything that's tried to come after us so far. It seems it's been used as a fishing boat of late, but it seems like it was more than that before. This is probably more of a real trip than it's seen in a while, but the captain assures us it's more than capable.
The crew is nice if not a bit... unconventional. The captain likes to tell us about his past with this boat, but not much else. And the magic the witches here use is a little unique too, not like something you'd expect from someone trained by the Coven. They're very skilled at combining spells to get results.
Aaaaand well. They like to drink. A lot. There have been a feeeew disturbances but hopefully nothing too serious will come from it. I'm sure if we've been able to keep up with all of this, the rest should be a piece of cake, right?
Heehee. It's definitely not a luxury cruise, but it's never boring either.
But it sure sounds like the city's prepared for us. I'm sure the presence of the military forces are a precaution-- and that may be why they moved the auctions too.
I'm not sure about that. It's not like the slavery has been covered up, you can still find it.
According to Eren, magic dreams are unreliable enough that they aren't considered proper evidence the Aefenglom courts. Too many things can influence what's shown in them.
It's possible whoever showed us those dreams was so focused on those auctions it became a focal point.
If you haven't heard anything about the new auction location by the time we arrive, I'll look into it. I think I should be able to find where they're holding it.
[ Crossbell's Number One Dad found his tiny daughter at a seedy black market auction, this kind of thing is a little bit personal. ]
Honestly, even if I do find it, you checking it out might be a good idea because you might spot something I don't. They don't exactly cover slave auctions in military or music school.
[What do you know having a cop on the team does come in handy]
The mafia used to hold a black market auction every year in Crossbell, during the anniversary celebrations. The police wanted to bust it up for ages but Revache had too many ties with the politicians; Section One could never look into it without having half of the parliament breathing down their necks.
[ That...doesn't really answer the whole question, Lloyd. ]
Yes, that's her. She's been living with us ever since.
[ And sneaking into Lloyd's bed whenever she has nightmares. And getting bumped up a class in Sunday School because she's the smartest little bean ever. And baking delicious muffins for everyone. ]

Though on the other hand, sea beasts and shades trying to sing you guys overboard doesn't sound much fun.

So I'm guessing you decided to go in undercover instead to see if there was a way to bust them without parliament jumping in?
[He should be more shocked at the blatant political corruption going on, but well. Noble Alliance sure did ruin being naive to that.]

[ While he ran her out of there and kicked the ass of everyone who stood between her and the door.
Elliot...may or may not have gotten to see the family picture in his notebook by now? ]

Sounds like more than enough of a good reason to blow your cover then. She looked really happy in the photo.
