[Oh boy...] Yeah, I'd say so. If they keep having blow-ups during meetings or their relationship worsens, we can talk to them. But students can't really grow if we smooth over every bump in the road for them, you know?

[It's one of the reasons Elliot elected to stay out of all of this, for the most part. It seemed like Lutha knew what he needed to do, and so it was up to him to do it]

Had a feeling you'd say something like that. [He'll kiss Rean on the cheek affectionally. Heck yeah cuddles] Wanna take it easy tonight?

[Rean lets out another heavy sigh at that, but it does seem like he's accepted Elliot's logic.]

Yeah, that's true. It's not like Instructor Sara ever really put in any legwork into smoothing things out for us, that was basically all on us.

[Rean has successfully been talked out of helicopter parenting— err, teaching! Victory! And with that little kiss, he finds himself smiling again.]

Mmhm. That's what I was planning. ...And I had really been hoping you'd be here when I got in, because I was really hoping to just take it easy with you.

[Why lie to his boyfriend when he knows it's something Elliot will likely enjoy hearing?]

[Well...that was probably less good teaching method, and more because Sara's personal relationships were a trainwreck and her trying to help them would've ended in disaster but-- sure rean! We'll go with that!]

Haha, y-yeah! Exactly! They'll find their own way to manage, I'm sure.

[Just be thankful that Rean got talked out of that plan. And yes he does enjoy hearing that, giving a fond smile]

Is that so? Well, you know I'd never mind that. [Especially when he's getting the vibe that these conversations drained Rean more than he's immediately letting on] Anything you want, I'm here for you. Okay?

[Rean seems to have forgotten exactly how awful of an instructor Sara could be, now that he's an instructor himself.

But, regardless, moving on from that. He hums a little, thoughtfully, as he nuzzles in against Elliot a bit.]

Hm... well, what I want most is dinner, and then... to just lay down with you, I think. Hold you like this for a while.

[Elliot's reading the vibe correctly. Not that Rean is doing a great job of hiding anything, of course, because he even sounds tired. But despite that, there's still a warmth and a fondness to his voice when he talks about just cuddling with Elliot.

He can't help but be grateful, that he's allowed to just have this sort of thing.]

[You know what, whatever copium helps him with being a teacher. It's fine.

Rean really was being affectionate tonight. Not that he wasn't usually, Rean took almost every opportunity to show his love. But even Elliot has to notice that this is more intense than usual.]

Haha...then you can hold me all night long.

[...His ARCUS buzzes, his timer for the food going off]

-- Right after I stop our dinner from burning.

[Gently he'll pull away to do just that. Sorry Rean. Hard to cuddle and cook at the same time]

[It's all right, Rean knew this was bound to happen. Once the ARCUS starts buzzing, he immediately loosens his grip and steps back, letting Elliot get back to work.]

All right, I guess I can let you do that.

[While Elliot's doing that, though, he'll make himself useful by getting out some plates and silverware. They'll surely be necessary sooner rather than later!

Also, cutting out these couple of seconds here gives him a couple more seconds of cuddling later. Smart.]

Eheh, thank you for your understanding.

[He says in a clearly teasing manner. Now free from Rean's grip, he'll go to finish up the Hayashi rice. A bit of stirring, adding last minute spices, and taking it off the heat.

Soon enough, thanks to Rean's big brain move of setting the plates, it's easy enough for him to bring the pots over and start dishing out the servings for the two of them. Sure enough, Rean managed to shave a few seconds off. ]

Alright, dinner's ready! I hope you like it.

Since you're the one cooking, I'm sure it'll be great.

[He's flattering Elliot with that, of course, but it's equal parts that and self-deprecation.

To be fair, with something like this, he'd probably do pretty well. But he knows who the more skilled cook is between the two of them.

Rean's been getting out utensils while Elliot's been dishing out food, so once Elliot's done, he scoops up the plates as well and takes them over to the table so he can set everything out for the two of them.]

Hehe, thanks. But I'm sure you'd make it just as well! Your cooking is pretty good when it's something you're passionate about.

[In other words, when it's weeb food.

He smiles as Rean sets the table. Knowing Rean will be set to do all this busywork with setting the table, he'll go sit down and wait for Rean to finish up and join him]
