[ Once Elliot wakes up from his night's sleep, he'll find a package next to him whether he's slept at Base Camp or in his Mondstadt apartment. There's a note attached to the nicely-wrapped box. ]
i got u a nice surprise
u should give this to ur boyfriend
dw it is perfectly safe (if it isnt u can come and punch me)
f.
[ Inside the small box is a perfectly geometric silver ring. ]
Well. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to hold onto. You know, just in case! If nothing else, maybe he can give to Crow when he gets home. Yeah!! He'd like that.
[His feathers have been genuinely ruffled as Lutha makes his way out of the docks, still wrapped up in the winter garb that he had been sporting before his sudden disappearance into the snowy banks of Dragonspine. Though his choice of wear is probably getting him the stares from passerssby, old habit still dies hard, and he's quick to shrug his shoulders up and shove his collar up to hide his scars.
Thankfully, the business district makes him feel far more comfortable than he'd ever been in Mondstadt. He'll hesitate near the grocer, eyes locking onto fresh produce and the fingers of his hand idly fidgeting with the pouch of coin against his hip.
He looks to one side, and then the other. It's fine. He doesn't see anyone who knows him. Maybe just... this once...
His expression falls to something slightly soft and subdued as he lowers the fabric from his face, striking up a quiet conversation with the grocer about his product, the pricing, trying and failing to make enough small talk to figure out more about where in the world he just got dropped.
He's definitely distracted enough to not notice a flash of familiar orange hair just yet.]
[Elliot had been out just to get some groceries. The air was still tense from what happened with Rex Lapis, so Elliot was remaining cautious not to draw too much attention to himself. He has too many memories of close calls with guards back home. He's been on enough wanted lists, thank you.
But he's caught by surprise when he notices someone familiar in the marketplace. Someone that he hasn't seen for months- that he thought was sent back to their world or wandered off into the wilderness....really it could've been either with Lutha.
[He starts a bit, looking up, seeing a familiar face...
Elliot's still alive?
Hm... time to look back down at the produce. His expression flickers between confusion and frustration and exhaustion, like he's struggling for words.
Thankfully he's jolted back to reality when the grocer happily hands him the bag containing his purchase. Ears start to tinge red as he stumbles through a thank you that should normally come out smoothly, gruffly shoving it under his bad arm as he tucks his change back against his belt, turning towards the other young man.]
Elliot... it's... uh, I'm-- [He clears his throat, trying to pull the layers of fabric away from his mouth as an afterthought.] You're... still standing, huh. Uh. That's... that's good.
[How do you have casual conversation after apparently vanishing for a while... Someone please kill him.]
[So, Elliot probably knew Rean was going to be gone for a while, but Rean has been gone for a while.
So it might be something of a surprise when Rean finally opens the door to their house in the teapot, walking in with a soft sigh. He's visibly worn out, but he seems pretty content, at least.]
Hey... sorry I'm late.
[He mutters the next part softly to himself, realizing he's not entirely sure if Elliot's in right now.]
Rean can't even be mad, honestly— he should have expected this. Laughing softly to himself, he makes his way over to his sleeping boyfriend and reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder.]
[He's gone and made himself scarce after nearly blowing up at Jun. But once it's obvious that the group's finally dispersed, Lutha tries to pick out a couple people. Elliot is one of them, though he tries to avoid approaching unless Rean is absent or otherwise occupied.
There's a careful clearing of his throat, just enough to try to get the musician's attention.]
[Well that ...sure was a meeting! Elliot can't call it a productive meeting between Ris whole murder talk, Crow's everything, and what went down with Lutha and Jun --- but somehow he's been through worse too.
Rean and Crow went off to talk somewhere else, so Elliot's easy to find alone. Mostly he was contemplating if he should go play some music or train more. So it's easy enough to get his attention]
Oh, hey Lutha. Sure we can. I, uh, saw you left the meeting early...
Not a great look, but... I knew I'd just make an idiot of myself if I stayed any longer. For all the shit I spewed about trying to stay on topic, it'd be wrong of me to just lose my temper over something stupid.
[...]
I need some help with something. Back at my teapot, actually. I need to go back to fix up something, anyway, and I know you know your way around instruments. So... [There's an awkward shrug. He doesn't feel like this is a request he deserves at this second, but he knows being alone will just not do him much good.]
If you'd rather Rean or someone be with you, I get it. But I'd appreciate if you could help.
[It's been a long day, followed by a long night, and Rean's got a weird mix of emotions swirling in his chest by the time he finally makes it home to his teapot, and, hopefully, to Elliot.]
Hey, I'm home.
[He definitely sounds tired as he calls in, chest tightening with the hope that he'll get a response.
It's fine if Elliot's out, of course. Elliot's very much allowed to live his own life. But more than anything, Rean just wants to pull him close and flop somewhere for a while, and it's hard not to feel anxious that maybe he won't be able to do that.]
[Elliot had an easier time after the meeting. He spent time with Lutha, focusing on helping him with an instrument. Which anything with music meant it was a good time for Elliot.
Because of that, and because Lutha had to go make an apology tour, he got home well before Rean. When Rean comes in, there's the smells of dinner being cooked. Some kind of stew, from the smell of it.
When Rean comes in, he'll poke his head out of the kitchen]
Oh, hey Rean! [He smiles, but -- oh, Rean looks like he's been through the ringer] Lemme guess...long day?
[Oh! Rean's tired enough that all of his senses are out of whack, so he doesn't immediately pick up on the scent until he's already called out. Still, it's immediately calming, and seeing Elliot's face poking out just after can only help further. He doesn't even notice how he smiles the second he sees Elliot, how it must look like a weight just rolled off of his shoulders.]
Haha, yeah. Not exactly the easiest round of conversations after that blowup earlier.
[Well, Jun's had been easy enough, once he'd gotten it started, but still.]
What are you making?
[He starts heading toward the kitchen. He'll have to wait until after dinner to fully live his flop-and-cuddle fantasies, but that's okay. He can handle that, just so long as he can at least be near him for now.]

Eheh, of course I am. I don't look it, but I'm pretty resilient.
[Frozen death mountain? walking across Liyue? It was nothing.]
But enough about me- what about you? Where've you been all this time? You just disappeared from camp one day.

Because you see, while Rean was out with Crow, somebody decided this would be a perfect opportunity to have an all-night date with music.
And that somebody is currently at the piano, slumped over with his face on the keyboard - asleep and lightly snoring. ]
