Elliot's practicing guitar in the living room, so he'll actually hear that knock on the backdoor. He stops his playing and heads over, wondering if one of his roommates locked themselves out. He's a little surprised to see it's Minato]
M-Minato? Something wrong with the front door?
[And yes, he sure is looking a lot like Souji. Wearing Yusuke's clothes though]
[ No explanation's offered either, just him stepping inside the room and toeing off his shoes so he can carry them with him and deposit them properly by the front door he didn't go through. ]
You sound pretty good from what I heard. Can I borrow one of the knives?
[ Elliot is a breath of fresh air when lately, all Minato's been hanging out with is Souji and Clover, both of whom he suspects would stab him without batting an eye.
He takes the knife with a "Thanks," and chops off the half of the apple with the face before heading back to the living room where Elliot had been playing before, working off the rest of the peel strip by strip. ]
How is Souji's body handling a... healthy? diet.
[ healthy?? Elliot's cooking is kind of horrendous, so he's not exactly sure it counts as healthy ]
[ It's a sympathetic sort of look Minato gives him, because whatever Souji ate was probably a lot of cold pizza after all they'ed ordered over at the jail, plus potentially a tomogachi. ]
Detoxing is tough, but I know you can do it. At least playing music might come easier with his body? He plays the trumpet. Loudly.
[But isn't loudly how you play the trumpet. That's like the main thing.]
T-Thank Minato. And you're right! His fingers aren't quite as nimble, but I'm still able to play guitar decently. Thank goodness...I'd go crazy if I had to go through this without music.
Just listening to music isn't enough, huh? Otherwise you could've borrowed my music player. I'll let you warm up a little longer if you need it, so give me a bit to...
[ make himself at home and seek out the cats. He knows what he's here for: stealing fruit and possibly pets. ]
[ Does he like struggling to play music with foreign fingers more than listening? Apparently so. ]
Alright. Fifteen minutes it is.
[ That's enough time to finish off his apple and seek out one of the cats— he avoids Ryoji like the plague, but Katkat is easy to get to and wrangle into the walking harness Ryoji had gotten for her once upon a time. Minato will steal this cat. ]
[Yes, because he's a music nerd no matter what body he's in. You can't change that about his soul.
Elliot nods and heads off to play guitar. He runs through a few sets, oblivious to Minato's plan of stealing the cat. He's really into his music, playing, until his phone timer goes off. Oh. It's been that long already? Better go find Minato.
[ Again, there is no explanation, but he does at least use the front door this time instead of sneaking around through the backyard. Katkat's tail swishes behind her; save her, Elliot... ]
[ He sure does have a license! Did you know, you can get one just by passing a multiple choice exam and not run anybody over in the half hour you're on the road? Easy peasy.
He's confident in his driving, at least, letting Katkat have full rein of the back seats while they take the front, but he's the sort of driver that drives with one finger on the steering wheel. Not even a full hand. A finger. And he keeps glancing over at Elliot rather than keeping his eye on the road, because it's just so weird. ]
It's really weird how obviously not-Souji you are...
[ It's a pointer finger, at least, and not the tip of his pinky that led to Naegi's toe being chopped off. He's survived this long driving this way. It'll be fine. They won't crash into the music store. ]
It's really different. He doesn't... laugh as much as you do. He doesn't ask as many questions. He doesn't skip any opportunity to make things into a joke.
[ And it's weird enumerating these things, as if he were close to Souji at all and knows him well enough to explain why it's so different. ]
He's easy to get along with, but it's hard to know him. What he's thinking. That sort of stuff. It's easier with you, I think.
[He listens to the explanation, and thinks over what he does know about Souji. Which truth be told...isn't a lot. He loves cats, he has a twin and a boyfriend, used personas, loved really bad food. But besides that...?]
I never thought about it like that, but...it's true. He's pretty mysterious in a lot of ways. [...] Honestly, I feel a little bad because so many people who get body switched try hard to keep up the other person's life, but...
Well, I'm not really sure what Souji does all day.
[ It's said immediately, but with a hint of a smile as Minato takes his eyes off the rear view mirror and pins his stare on the road. Souji's a bum, because all the times they've hung out together, they'd spend full days just bumming together. Unlike Clover and her schedule, Souji never seems to have anything planned, and he seems to expect Minato to have nothing planned either, calling him up or barging through his window whenever he wants. ]
It feels like he just does whatever he wants. He's probably doing that right now, subjecting your body to gross food, but it's why you should have the freedom to do the same. That's why we're doing this. No feeling bad. This is basically Souji's life anyways.
[ Has Elliot never acted wild in his life? Minato's heart hurts for him, and it's here he decides he'll dedicate himself to making today as wild a day as he possibly can, so that Elliot may never forget it. ]
That's the spirit. How do you feel like driving? Have you ever gone five miles an hour above the speed limit?

Welp. At least he can be sure Minato didn't have a bodyswap on the way over]
Oh, thanks...
You mean for your apple?
no subject
Yeah, the apple. There's a spot I need to cut out.
[ (the face) ]
Want any?
no subject
[Well that's a fair enough explanation, so he'll walk over to the kitchen (which is right there, and get him a knife
He holds it out to him, blade down because he is a responsible boy.]
No thanks. I get...more than enough apples in my diet.

Also, this is souji's body anyway so whatever]
Um...okay I think? My stomach hurts sometimes...maybe it's because he's not used to eating normal food?
[Look it's okay his roommates keep a VERY CLOSE eye on him when he cooks]
That or I'm still feeling the effects of whatever he ate before we switched.

Elliot is sitting in the front seat, fully buckled up and trying hard not to worry too much about driving with Minato. Surely it'll be fine.
Right? ]
Ahaha...yeah, that's what people keep saying. Is it really that different?
no subject
It's really different. He doesn't... laugh as much as you do. He doesn't ask as many questions. He doesn't skip any opportunity to make things into a joke.

He better be at least watching what he eats. I don't want to detox a second body.
[It's a pain!!!]
B-But alright. As long as no one gets hurt, maybe acting wild would be a little fun.

Hey! I-I've sped before! It's fun.
