I believe it's from a video game. It came up on a random playlist I was listening to as I was painting... but unfortunately I'm lacking in any context.

There were quite a few nice songs that played, come to think of it.

It has a certain sadness to it, but still...hope? Idk if thats the right word- but it's not despairing.

Looks like it's a language written for the game.
Wonder what it says, I always like when creators go that deep with world building.

I wonder if that's common. I've heard a few songs that sound like they might have latin in them, and upon re-listening I've discovered it's just a made up language.

Idk about common, but there's some appeal to doing it I think.
If you can't understand what's being said, it's easier to hear a voice as a proper instrument.
Words can be distracting sometimes, like it's hard for you to think of how English or Japanese must sound to a non-speaker.

I agree, but sometimes having a made up language at all can be confusing - this song is beautiful, and absolutely sung in a made up language.

But in parts it sounds a lot like French, and I get distracted trying to figure out if it is or not.

Morrigan has been posing around the bedroom, so I thought I would try painting him and capturing his majesty.
