[wow, called tf out... and mgghhh he can't even reasonably argue for himself here, so he just
doesn't respond, and once he sees Elliot approaching, opens the door for him. He looks rather like a dog with his tail between his legs, but hey. It doesn't look like he's totally bled through the wad of paper towels he has wrapped around his one hand yet? That's gotta be like one whole point in his favor?]
[Elliot meanwhile will put his phone away and finishes the trek. When he sees Rean, he'll approach. If Rean think he's about to be scolded, Elliot doesn't look it. Honestly, he's still dealt with worse patients. Instead, he offers him a small smile]
Hey Rean. Sorry it took me so long to get over here. Do you wanna go back to your room or is there somewhere else private we can go?
[He'd rather a bunch of people didn't watch his magic after all...too many questions]
[Rean seems a little relieved at not being scolded any further, at least.]
Yeah, we can head back up to my room. I kinda figured that would be what happened.
[He waves his good hand for Elliot to follow as he goes back to the elevator, hitting the button to open it. Thankfully, it hasn't gone far since Rean stepped off, so it's there and open for them to board shortly thereafter.
Rean punches in the button for his floor (still with his good hand! He can be a good dog!) and flops back against the wall with a sigh.]
Who would have thought blackbirds would hurt so much...
[wow a dorm building with a working elevator. What sorcery is this. But Elliot will follow along, holding onto his violin case with both hands in front of him]
[Looks like they've done renovations since you lived in the dorms, Elliot! Or Rean just lucked out...]
Yeah... thanks for coming all the way out here, by the way. I really owe you one.
[Ping! Looks like they've made it to Rean's floor, so once the door opens Rean's out and heading back toward his room.
Instinctively, he moves to retrieve his keys... with the hand that is currently wrapped in paper towel. That doesn't really do much other than shift the paper towel a little, but Rean winces.]
...Ow. Yeah, that's not gonna work. Ugh...
[Don't mind him digging out his keys and unlocking his door with his off hand. Graceful and smooth are not words one could use to describe him right now...]
[He'll take the key and get it into the lock. Takes a little fiddling since he's not used to this door, but he gets it open faster than Rean would've.]
[Rean's quick to duck inside, although he won't start unwrapping his wounds until Elliot's in with the door closed. No need to freak out anyone that might be walking by.
Since this is Elliot's first time visiting Rean's dorm, he'll notice that it's pretty tidy! He could have maybe tried a little harder making the bed this morning, but everything else seems to be in its place. He's taken the bed down from its usual bunked style, although there's a decent amount of space under it still, which it looks like he's using for storage. Including something long and thin? Hm. He's got a beanbag tucked into the corner, and a tiny little bookshelf set up displaying a couple of anime figurines. And robots, because of course. He's Eren's friend for a reason.]
Um... make yourself comfortable, I guess. I can't pretend I have any idea how magic works.
[He'll give a quick look around the room. It's nice enough dorm, about what he'd expect from Rean - anime and mech figures included. The long and thing case...well, maybe that's his sword that he mentioned? Lil strange to keep it out in the open like that, but hey he does live alone so maybe that's why...
He'll shut the door once Rean's fully in the room, since right. Don't want anyone watching]
Aha, it won't take too long. Though I should really follow Crow's request of cleaning it first, so...let's sit on the bed?
[Listen, the RA doesn't know that's what it is, and it's not like inspections are any more than opening a door, quickly taking a once-over, and leaving. For all anyone knows, maybe it's a tripod! (It is not a tripod.)]
All right, works for me.
[Rean hops up onto his bed, leaving plenty of room for Elliot, and immediately gets to work getting rid of the paper towel ball around his hand.
And... yeah, it's not pretty looking. It's not too awful, all things considered, but there's two deeper cuts, one of which is definitely still not looking good, a good spattering of shallower cuts that have at least closed up on their own by now, and a nice handful of other visible scratches.
[Elliot will sit on the bed, setting the violin case next to him. He pops it open, and instead of a regular violin? There's his orbal staff, condense to violin size.
He also grabs a small bottle of rubbing alcohol that he stored away in there too, and some cloth. Then he gives a look at Rean's wound, giving it a grimace but not looking too fazed by it. He's seen a lot worse since becoming a healer]
Ouch, they really got you good.
[He wets the cloth with rubbing alcohol, ready to clean that wound]
[Rean nods once and tries to ready himself for the stinging of the rubbing alcohol.
No amount of readying will make him immune, and he does wince a little, but it's not like he makes sound or pulls away or anything. He's not the worst patient, just a bad one.
While Elliot's working on disinfecting him, Rean will peer over at the orbal staff. It is a new and interesting thing!]
[Elliot will do his best to make sure he's quick and gentle about it. Dab dab dab. At least he does know what he's doing, he has learned basic first aid, even if it's not as extensive as Crow's knowledge.
And he notices Rean looking at the staff. Well if it has his attention, he'll talk about it in hopes to distract Rean from the stinging. ]
Haha, that's my staff. Apparently it's an "Orbal Staff" prototype that my other self was helping test.
Aha, yeah! It plays like one too actually. Not as good sound as a real violin, but it means I can play this instead of risking damaging a real one when I travel someplace dangerous.
Huh. [Rean can't even imagine how that works, but then again, he's not nearly as well-versed in instruments as Elliot is...] Here's hoping you don't exactly make a habit of that, but that's interesting.
So, do you need it for healing magic?
[He's trying to figure out why Elliot brought it.]
[Spoilers: It's magic don't ask me how it works either]
Ehe, well I've done it a few times. Once and awhile Retrospec likes to send people on missions.
[A shrug]
Not quite, but it does make casting easier. Oh- and that should be clean enough. [And if on cue, he finishes with the alcohol and puts the cloth away, pulling out the staff. The staff glows brightly for a moment, and when the glow goes away - it's now a full staff length instead of a violin.]
[We're running with "Elliot is a musical genius and he can make it work somehow because magic." But missions? Rean glances over at Elliot with a slightly quirked brow.
Look at this boy. He's soft. Is that really a good idea...?]
Mm... well, I guess having a healer around in those situations would be good. And you're here now, so I can only assume you've been careful.
[...Is he just telling himself this so he worries less...?
Oh. Woah. That is definitely a staff now. And that was definitely magic. Not that he hasn't seen Elliot use magic before, but he's still not exactly used to it.
Don't mind him, he's just going to be mildly awestruck for a moment.]
[Wow excuse you Rean. He may be soft, but he also hardcore. ]
Eheh, yeah! I like to think I've made myself useful thanks to my magic.
[And that's what his self-worth cares about. Being useful. Not being a burden. Same reason he insists on feeding so many people. He's useful that way.
Elliot notices Reans awe and grins a little ]
Cool right? And comes in handy. Anyway-
[He brings down the end of the staff so it bangs against the ground. But instead of a usual banging sound, it rings out like a tuning fork. There's a glowing light beneath both of them, and Rean will see the scratches start to heal and fade away right in front of him as the regeneration kicks in]

Also good, I'll head down to meet you... I, uh, may have opened up the deeper one again.

No! Stay where you are!

Elliot, look for rubbing alcohol in his medicine cabinet before you close it up, just in case
I'm counting on you!

[AS FOR THIS ONE]
How about you worry about yourself instead of him for a couple minutes?
But fine. Meet me downstairs, and try to be really careful not to disturb the injury any further.

[Rean seems like the type that has trouble asking for help, so this? was a very good step.
But oh, that looks awkward and painful]
H-Here, I can get the door... [He holds out his hand to either take the keys or at least open the door for him]

This is so embarrassing.]

A staff, huh? It looks more like some kind of stringless violin... although, given who it belongs to, I guess that sort of makes sense.
