[ he types one last time as he starts pelting little pebbles at elliot’s window. yes, it is time!!!! get out here and—

he threw a pebble too hard. glass shatters.

[Elliot was in the middle of typing back a response when he hears pebbles against his window. The first couple are faint, almost easy to ignore, and then--


Crash! The window shatters]

W-Wha-

WHAT THE HECK!?

[Eren can hear Elliot's yell from inside the room. Shortly after he'll see Elliot head to the window. He...well, looks like someone who hasn't slept in a couple days. His hair is down and got bed hair, and he's in a tee and pajama pants rather than actual street clothing. This is what happens when you give him no time to get ready.

Also he looks understandably shocked by his WINDOW BEING BROKEN]

Eren??

[WHY]

[ well. shit. complete shit. eren is frozen in place, and in those passing seconds, the change in the color of his scales is as lovely as the near embarrassed frown that pulls at his lips. people pass by and gawk, one makes a comment about vandalism and another chuckles behind their hand— monsters and their dates! the poor lad. ]

Sorry. [ he’s— he’s coming up. at least cleaning what’s broken while elliot gets ready could give them a head start. ]

[Well, the whole window shattering had been startling to say the least. But after his brain confirms that no, he's not about to be attacked and it was just Eren throwing a pebble too hard...he calms down.

Though hearing those passerbys commenting makes him share some of Eren's embarrassment. Don't people have better things to do than watch them?? (No, no they don't)]

I-It's okay, Eren. It was an accident. [He says, breathing out, thinking of what can be done. It's nice being a witch at least, he had some repairing spells in mind. ] Gimme a sec and I'll fix it okay?

[He needs to go get dressed, especially if there's going to keep being gawkers. So...excuse him as he awkwardly draws the curtain and does that. A few minutes later, he'll teleport next to Eren in a more presentable (but also casual outfit). His hair is down, not wanting to deal with styling it today, and the more messy parts of it are covered up with a hat. It's a rushed look, but it's still a look.]

Wow...you really did a number on it.

[ there are some glass shards on the floor now, and— fuck. remember when he thought he was going to climb up? turns out, not yet! he has to collect all these sharp objects and cracks and shards off the road, look how much of a hazard this could be to people walking by?

elliot catches him right when he’s stuffing the smaller bits into his pockets. a bigger shard sticks out and he seems to have pricked his palm, but no worries there! just looking and tongue flicking around for any strays. ]

What about your room? [ i mean, they should totally check if the room is okay

definitely.

(all those pieces of glass are probably lonely) ]

[It takes a couple seconds to realize what Eren was doing. At first it looks like he was just collecting the shards to clean up the mess, which was helpful because Elliot could use those to repair the window. But then when he sees him pocket them.

Oh. Oh no. His hoarding instinct has kicked in. ]

My room's fine. I have a spell to repair the window, but um...

[Boy]

I'm gonna need the glass.

[usurpers]

[ aaronpaulscreaming.png!! all of it? is half of what his hoarder part wants to say, that or a flat out no, but. eren hands most of what he could fit in his hand over.

except he leaves one out, on purpose. elliot probably won’t need all of it. ]

[He knows how hard this must be for Eren, with his hoarder impulse. So when he hands them over without a fight, Elliot will give him a grateful "thank you", and stand on his toes to give him a kiss on the cheek. He appreciates you bae.

Glass in hand, he walks over to set it on the windowsill. Luckily, the glass serves more as an energy saver so he doesn't have to conjure all the glass, so one piece he'll be able to keep. Then he steps back and moves to hold onto Eren's arm. This is a sizeable enough spell, so the physical contact boost help.

Once he's all set to go, he'll start singing a little repair and create incantation, his focus entirely on the window. The glass shards lift up and start to reform into a window. There's no way it'll look good as new, so instead Elliot improvises, using careful precision in his magic to change coloring and reshape it to images in his mind.

When its done, the window is repaired to have a stained glass look to it. One pane is, unsurprisingly, music themed. Meanwhile the other has a black and red dragon, with bits of other colors spread throughout his body - in other words, it matches Eren's coloring. The dragon is flying freely through the sky]

How's it look?

[ he knew you didn’t need all of it. watching the magic unfold, eren keeps his hands tucked away into the folds of his poncho front pockets, playing with the shard of glass he kept for himself— admiring the display once it comes back to life. the dragon gets him to grunt, a little flurry of content and surprise bustling through their bond in an instant, before eren pulls the shard he kept out, and twirls it in his hand.

he worries about elliot’s feelings for him, sometimes. the attachment, the bond. he’s a piece of shit, he has ugly flaws and he’s more a monster than not— and here’s this dude, giving him cheek kisses and making stained glass windows in his image. was he in denial, as armin was? or was he here for the whole ride willingly? he knows they’v made that somewhat clear since a while back, but . . . eren can’t help but to wonder, sometimes.

he doesn’t expose his memories and says it’s to keep the burden off of everyone else, which was true— he just couldn’t say he didn’t do it to preserve himself, either. a true piece of human shit, he was. ]

Flawless, [ the shard falls flat against his palm, and he shows it off with a flick of his tail. ] for a flawed window.

[Really it's option C: He has super questionable tastes.

Elliot looks pretty happy about it. A little embarrassed, but aw well. It's probably not as good as Gaius would've done, but he likes to think it doesn't look too bad.]

Aha, thanks. [he scratches his head] I'll probably add the others when I think of how to do that. You just like climbing through the window and a dragon's just easier to design, also you did break the window...

[Something to represent each of the people he cares about. There's plenty of glass to go around. He's not afraid to get attached to people.]

A-Anyway! We were going to go shopping right?

[usurpers]

[ god damn it, boy. ]

Yeah. [ and shopping they’ll go!! tucking away the glass he got away with, eren begins to walk and gestures for elliot to come along, only with his head, and the tail behind him that flicks against the witch’s ankle from behind. ] Does that mean you’ll need more windows to break?

[fiddlestick]

[He makes a surprised laugh at the flicking tail, picking up his own speed to try to walk alongside Eren. The suffering of short people walking next to someone with long legs]

Haha...I guess so! Not today though. But if you do it again sometime, I'll let you keep whatever glass shards I don't need.

[In other words: HE KNOWS you squirreled one away]

[ unless they want to confuse eren for a vandal. but yes, the glass shard, the one he's stroking with his thumb as they speak . . . though, to that, he does pull it out again to check out the point. the best one he could've taken, oh how the curve dances into a sharp edge. very good. ]

Do you have something in mind already?

[ to wear, that is! they're so close by, too. ]

[Though really, it's not like this house isn't already full of loud noises and chaos. He eyes Eren checking out the glass. He's not sure what makes Eren so happy about it, but hey, he's sure Eren feels that way whenever Elliot starts geeking out over an instrument - so whatever]

Well...nothing specifically, but I'd like to avoid a tux if possible. I wear those when I'm hired to play at weddings ... and I always look like I'm a kid in them.

A vest?

[ you know— formal vest, slacks, button down underneath. eren rounds a corner and leads them straight into a store, one that’s already advertising fantastic fabric displays, all flashy enough for a party. masks!!! get your masks!! ]

A vest could be good, I like those. Just make it fancier than what I usually wear...

[He follows Eren into the store, looking around. Wow, this story looks way fancier than last time he came here]

Oh wow, the stores really jumped on the whole masquerade.

[ of course they wouldn’t lose the chance to make a few extra bucks after the holidays with the mirrorbound— and that’s not a bad thing. they know their way around marketing . . . one of the attendants, remember that young witch? the one with an odd taste in fabric, spots the pair and recognizes eren, bringing him the separate package and pointing out the changing room. go give it a shot! ]

I’ll meet you by the vests. [ he tells elliot, before disappearing behind curtains. well, most of him. his tail sticks out a little more than half way. ]

Oh! It's her!

[He remembers that kid. It looks like she actually found some work- good for her! Though, now even slightly more concerned at what this will mean for this "party poncho".]

Alright.

[He...can't help but bite back a laugh at Eren's tail sticking out. But he'll head over to the vests, coming through the racks to try to figure out a look. Hmmm]

[ interning, working, volunteering— whatever a girl her age with talent can do around here. taking off what little clothes he has is as easy as putting the new fashion statement on. there’s only one hole in it. it’d be a snap to get into.

as elliot browses, eren will casually walk on over once he’s done. let the imagination wander because it’s a catastrophe. over his shoulder, he observes what his bond picks out, from colors to models— blues? ]

Find anything?

[Elliot continues to browse, looking through the vests to get ideas. Sometimes he pulls out his communicator to snap a picture of a particular vest to show Crow later. Because of course he's going to consult the guy on all things fashion. But at least he seems to be veering towards an idea of a look.]

Some ideas, I'm thinking maybe something cool and themed--

[He turns to look at Eren, and then immediately jumps back at that look]

Whaa-- Oh Aidios! That's even worse than I feared!!

[ so much for the party poncho :( eren looks around the premade pieces, and while some of them have back hole for wings, or harpy sleeves— wyvern dragons are so rare, it was hard to pull something out of their stock. I think you’re the only one here? it’s crazy! i mean, there might be some stuff from way back when? its p’rolly really old since that was when aefenglom actually had dragons, the intern explains as she points to part of their stocks all the way in the back.

eren gestures— maybe they should look, then? ]

It’s not like a have a lot of options.
