[ souji lets out a small laugh. hmm, it has been a while since they were on this daily coughfee/steak fetching since they spent a month in the woods and all so maybe it's not too surprising that elliot forgot ]

[He'll hold open the door, giving a little "Oh hi!!" to the fox]

I haven't been cooking since I got home, so it slipped my mind.

We haven't been home for a while. I can understand if you wanted to take it easy.

[ he'll step in and take off his shoes while the fox just nods at elliot before also heading in (is there a front door mat because she'll be a good fox and wipe her feet if so) ]

Will you have any ingredients?

Ehehe, guilty as charge. Cooking for thirty people for a month wasn't easy...

[WHAT A GOOD FOX. Elliot smiles at that as he shuts the door behind them and follows to the kitchen]

Not sure, but maybe my other roommates did a grocery shop.

That's okay. I'm not even sure how to explain how to make the coffee anyway.

[He shrugs as he opens up the freezer to look for some meat]

Besides, with this I wouldn't really count it as "cooking".

[ souji will lean against a kitchen counter, out of elliot's way, as he talks. the fox will do the same, just sitting down somewhere and waiting patiently to be fed ]

No, usually cooking is more edible...

[He keeps digging around until yes, in the back of the freezer, he finds a slab of maybe meat in a freezer bag that's long been forgotten. There's freezer burn on it, and it's not even clear what kind of meat it IS. Elliot will hold it up]

W-Will this work you think?

[ elliot, did you really just ask souji "will eat anything that can fit in his mouth" narukami if some random mystery meat with some freezer burn on it is okay or not? do you know who you're speaking to?? ]

[ then a small pause before he speaks again ]

... do you think we can flavour it with your coffee?

F-Flavor it with the coffee?

I-I dunno... [A lot] I guess if that's what you want, I can try?

I'd appreciate the effort. It'd be a fun experiment.

[He has doubts, but whatever customer is always right!! He pulls out the grill pan and sets the stove to HIGH]

So how've you been since getting back?

I've been all right. Just enjoying that I can sleep in a bed and shower properly again, but also been trying to get Kuzunoha here to get along with the other cats.

[ twelve cats vs one fox. who will win?? ]

Haha, about the same. I've missed indoor plumbing and beds.

How many cats do you have?

[ thanks. elliot is allowed to set him on fire after he dies though. give him a viking funeral ]

Twelve, though that's if you don't count the strays we have around the house.

T-Twelve!?

Whoa, you must be pay a fortune in cat food.

It does take up a good chunk of my budget, but between splitting the costs between my brother and me, it's manageable.

[ also they both work 282819 jobs so it's not that bad ]

Asides from that, having twelve cats isn't as bad as it sounds. It's actually quite fulfilling.

Haha...I'll take your word for it. At least you always have something to cuddle with, I guess.

[Still sounds insane though. Souji really is the crazy cat lady.

The pan heat up, Elliot will drop the slab of meat onto it. It'll start sizzling away.]

[ souji is still by the counter as he watches elliot does his thing. kuzunoha does raise her head though because meat meat meat meat meat meat ]

You don't have any pets of your own, right? Though I think Akira mentioned that he owns a cat?

[fiddlestick]

[While the meat is cooking, Elliot opens up the fridge and digs up some ground beef for the fox. He hasn't forgotten you Kuzunoha!]

Yeah, Morrigan. And Ryoji has Katkat, and Yusuke has some fiddler crabs.

[He shrugs]

No pets that belong to me though. My money usually goes to music equipment. [His true babies] I did have a cat when I was a little kid though.

[ thanks, elliot, kuzunoha will eat that ground beef and yip happily at him. elliot just might be the only person she'll heal without stealing his wallet because food :9 ]

[ souji will never turn down the option to hear about another cat, even if that cat is long back in the past ]

Fox fed, he'll start working on the coffee - pausing once to flip the slab of meat]

She was sweet, very calm. My brother took care of her, but she'd walk across the piano sometimes when I was practicing.

[ she won't steal elliot's wallet but that doesn't mean she won't go around to steal his housemates' :) but she will eat while souji wants to Die at this description of elliot's old cat. he just loves cats so much (clenches fist) ]
