[ So, Minato is exactly the kind of person who invites random strangers out on lunch or breakfast dates, or...anywhere, really. Part of being a Persona Protagonist means just randomly associating with strangers until they tell you their life stories after the third date or something, it's great.
Also he's just kind of relaxed by nature and goes with whatever he feels like doing. When Elliot shows up, he'll find a boy dressed pretty casually, listening to some kind of music on his headphones. If Elliot sent any files already, it might be those. If not...it's just some of his usual music. ]
[Elliot did send along the files, because one does not turn down the chance to endorse your music. He's also a little late coming in, not dramatically so, just the typical kind of late a person is when they suffer from chronic tardiness.
He's...a little nervous about this, going to breakfast with a total stranger. And what more, he kinda forgot to ask what the guy LOOKED like. So he's outside the place, looking around nervously for any sign.]
Man, I should've asked for a picture...
[It'll be easy for Minato to spot him though. With his nerves on high alert, his cat features are showing up. So there's a redhead with matching cat ears atop his head, as well as a cat tail swaying nervously. Probably your guy! ]
[ Luisa knows it's still pretty early in the morning, so Elliot is likely already working, but as soon as she learns how long it's been she immediately texts him. ]
OH MY GOSH I AM SO SORRY I MISSED LAST SATURDAY AND NEVER CALLED SOMETHING HAPPENED AND APPARENTLY I'VE BEEN ASLEEP FOR THREE DAYS SO I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO TELL YOU
[ She may have accidentally capslocked everything, but honestly she'd probably be just as panicked if this was a call or video chat. ]
[Tiera remembers to contact Elliot after all this is over and they're home. Jann was pretty incensed when she explains what she did to stop La Llorona, but in the end he just held her tight and whispered how glad he was that she was alright. Dinner was quiet, and finally she had some time to herself.]
[It's a long while before Elliot responds. Honestly, he rather not talk to anyone right now. Especially not with a student, not when he struggles to remain composed.]
Tiera, did you get home ok?
[Is he completely ignoring that question? Yes. Yes he is. Because he's not ok and there's no way to frame that properly, considering he just watched his old friend and several students die. ]
I know this is kind of last minute, but do you happen to have any plans this weekend? I was hoping I could get together a couple of friends and go out somewhere for dinner.
[There's a pause, and then a quick addition:]
Oh, and don't worry about paying for it. I can cover for everyone.
know all the freshman and maybe younger on the app because I heard about that soccer game and like
I'm thinking we need a List of Minors on this goddamn app so the rest of us can keep an eye out for 'em? but let's be real the ones who'd come clean are the ones who need the least supervision
[Oh thank god. This is Rean's cousin isn't it? So just immediately--]
Antonio, Luz, Usagi, Snow White, Ken and Souta are the ones I've come across. There's probably more. I don't have any to student records for anyone that's not in high school, and there won't be any student records for any who aren't in school.
I'd try to be subtle about the monitoring. I already tried talking to Ken directly about getting into dangerous situations and that didn't do a thing to stop him from getting involved with the soccer game.
Luckily he's at home when he gets this message, so Elliot will just take a moment to grab his headphones, put on some soothing lofi music, and take a couple deep breaths to brace himself before answering]
Hello! You're Mirabel and Luisa's uncle, right?
Hunter's one of my students, so I try to look out for him when I can. Is something the matter?
[....Kinda nice to hear Hunter actually talks about him, he won't lie, but Elliot is still bracing for what this could be about.]
[Opening up to an authority figure is always rough- and Elliot's been a pretty solid one, truth be told. He's been instrumental in helping Varian adjust to this future world and has been an all-around calming influence on him.
Almost all of Varian's friends back home are adults, so it's easy for him to talk to them- but Elliot isn't really a friend- he's a teacher. But he's also someone Varian trusts and looks up to a great deal. He deserves to know. ]
Um. Hey. I wondered if we could talk. It's about my past and it's...not good. I can understand if you'd rather not, I get you're supposed to have some distance with being my teacher and everything.
[Elliot wasn't expecting a message like this from Varian. While he could pick up on some clues that Varian had something going on back home that he wasn't voicing, he wasn't about to pry further than necessary, even if he was curious.
But if Varian is coming forward? Well. He's not going to turn him away.]
Hey Varian, of course we can talk. Even if teachers keep some distance in some areas, we're always here to listen to our students when they got something they want to say.
Would you prefer to talk over text or meet in person?

[As usual, any replies will receive no response from Zodiac]
[Varian hates doing this after the Zodiac post has gone up, after knowing Hunter has gone. He and Hunter were not friends by any shot- long or otherwise- but he knows Elliot and Hunter meant a lot to one another. This loss has got to hurt a lot.
If time weren't an issue, he'd leave this alone. Give Elliot time to grieve. But he's scared that time is against them in a big way and there aren't a lot of adults in positions of authority here that he trusts. There's a part of him that wants to deal with this himself. He knows a lot about chemicals, and he knows of ways to permanently dispatch a threat like this one quietly and quickly. But he feels that...might backfire on him and he should probably at least reach out first. He's supposed to be better.]
Elliot? I'm- I'm really sorry to bother you. I saw Hunter has gone and that must...awful. I'm sorry that he's gone. And- and I know that you've got to be going through a lot right now and feel free to uh...tell me to go away or something but I'm really worried about someone in school and I don't know who else I can talk to about it.
[Elliot has half the mind to ignore the message, with how he's feeling now. But while Varian can be inconsiderate about some things at school, he knows Varian wouldn't go out of his way to contact him right now over something frivolous.
He should probably answer.]
It's okay, Varian, I know if you're contacting me it must be important.
Delivered to his classroom at school is a small gift basket with a package of pencils that are hand-wrapped in music sheets (classical music), a mug that reads "My class is full of treble makers", a songwriting journal, and a pack of playing cards on fancy black cardstock with silver engraved numbers/suits.
Comes with card that says "Merry Christmas from your Secret Santa" and has a small shooting star on it because what is subtlety.
[At some point, either when Elliot gets back from a Friday night date or before that or something, there's a very nice, very expensive bottle of red wine waiting on the doorstep. It's wrapped in paper and put into a box, at least, so it's not immediately obvious that it's a wine bottle.
There's a note in it, too. It just reads:]
An apology for what you have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Let me know if red wine isn't to your taste and I can replace it with something else.
[Jusis is the most thoughtful man alive. His date canceled so he could take care of other things thanks to Varian and Fern, he wasn't expecting a package like this.
He'll send him a text]
Thanks for the wine, Jusis. I can't say I have much experience drinking wine this fancy, but I'm sure I'll like it!
Though, I think I'd probably like it even more if I could share it with some good company, if you're inclined.
[So... a conversation has left Jusis with a question or two. Unfortunately, of his two friends, one is a cat in the same boat of cluelessness he's in, and the other is a catboy with a music obsession. He doesn't... admit... to ignorance very easily, but this feels too specific for him to Google search accurately.]
Elliot, I have a question for you if you can spare a moment. I think I may be missing some key context with a conversation I had with someone.
[Alas poor Elliot has no idea which conversation he could mean. So when Jusis calls him, he assumes he's asking about a music or pop-culture related question. You know. Normal stuff]
Eheh, sure! I always have time for you. What's up?
[Honestly, Jusis is always messed up whenever it involves evil things happening to kids. Ash's story is no exception, and what happened to him is absolutely vile. Normally, he has different methods of coping when things like that happen, and they sadly do in his line of work sometimes. This is different, though. More personal. Ash is someone he knows and cares about, and... well. Jusis isn't in a good place after hearing about it.
Guilt is what's really winding its way into his lungs and heart to choke him to death, though. Or threaten to. Unfortunately, given that, the best he can do is find someone to talk to. Someone he trusts. Yrael is an option, but... well. He doesn't need honesty. What he needs is something only one other person he knows can give him. A reminder that it's not all evil out there. There are bright spots, a lot of them.
So, he sends a text to Elliot.]
I apologize for texting so abruptly, but would you mind if I came over for a short while?
[You know considering the conversation he had with Ash...He can't say he's surprised to see this Jusis message. And honest...he wouldn't mind the company either]
[Right, well, if there's one thing that Kakyoin remembers from the past year and is not keen on repeating, it's this faerie curse nonsense. He's managed to get his initial one under control (only to be smacked with another later, and now he's turning into a dragon... jeez).
But, well, he remembers commiserating over curses last year with Elliot, and that's got something to do with why he's lingering today, after classes have ended. Once it looks like the man isn't busy, Kakyoin approaches.]
[So, Rean has just had a very interesting time. He's spent about the last hour and a half to two hours just staring blankly at his ceiling as a bunch of visions slammed through his head; memories of a life simultaneously his but also not.
Memories, it occurs to him, he had not that long ago, so why had he lost them?
Well, he doesn't have any answers to that, but he does know someone he needs to go talk to like, right now, immediately. So, after finally forcing himself out of bed, Rean heads out of the bedroom to go find Elliot, hands awkwardly stuffed in his pockets.]
Hey, um... you have a moment?
[It's not "we need to talk" but it probably sounds distressingly close. Sorry, Elliot.]
[It was a little strange for Rean to take longer to get up from bed. Usually it was Elliot who slept in later. But with all the odd hours that Rean tends to work from his odd jobs, he had thought that maybe he was just exhausted from that.
It's only when Rean comes downstairs, looking distressed and with that tone in his voice, does Elliot get concerned. He'll look up and feel his anxiety spike.]
